Brief introduction of biomass multi-generation technology

Biomass is an important renewable energy. It is widely distributed with huge amount. The common biomass includes corn, wheat, cotton, rice straw and rice husk, forestry and agricultural residues, etc. At present, biomass direct combustion power generation is the most commonly used method for biomass scale treatment. But the disadvantages of direct combustion power generation are also very obvious, like smoke pollution, sewage treatment and other issues. Meanwhile, the treatment of straw by direct combustion cannot increase the added value of straw, which is a waste of resources.

The technology of biomass gasification multi-generation, which is introduced by our company, adopts the advanced pyrolysis and gasification technology to produce gas, carbon, heat (steam and hot water) and fertilizer at the same time based on the traditional biomass power generation. The added value of straw resources is greatly improved and the industrial chain of straw treatment is extended to create more value.

Biomass multi-generation technology

Firstly, the biomass is transported to the gasifier through gasification and pyrolysis process, and then a large amount of biomass gas (the main components are CO, H2, CH4, CnHm, etc.) will be produced after a series of complex reactions such as pyrolysis, gasification, anaerobic combustion, etc. in the gasifier. After the purification treatment, biomass gas will be transmitted to the internal gas combustion engine to generate power for enterprises to use or all for internet-connecting.

Secondly, residuals after gasification is biomass charcoal which can be made into high value-added carbon base fertilizer, charcoal and activated carbon according to different raw materials of biomass.

Thirdly, when the cleaning liquid to clean biomass combustible gas reaches certain concentration, it needs to be processed and purified during which biological tar and wood vinegar can be produced. The biological tar can be sold directly as fuel and the wood vinegar can be made into foliar fertilizer, deodorant, biologic antimicrobial agents, etc.

Fourthly, the jacket water and fuel gas waste heat in the internal gas combustion engine can be used to provide hot water to restaurants, hotels and bath centers according to the demands of surrounding areas. It can also provide heat to surrounding communities and also provide steam to enterprises for production cooperation.

In the whole production process, there is no emission of waste water and residues. With good economic and environmental effects, it is a new technology meeting the green, environmentally friendly, recycling and sustainable development.

III. Concept innovation and technology advantages

1. High utilization efficiency and economic efficiency of gasification by-product: gaseous products (combustible gas) can be used for power generation, gas supply and replacement of coal; liquid products (straw vinegar) can be prepared into foliar fertilizer, deodorant, etc.; solid products (biomass charcoal) can be made into carbon base fertilizer, activated carbon, charcoal etc.;

2. Good environmental benefits: the traditional technology is the complete biomass gasification. This technology adopts partial biomass gasification. Most sulfur, nitrogen and carbon are retained in the biomass charcoal. Compared with the traditional technology, the emission of CO2, SO2, NOX and other harmful gases is reduced. In the whole production process, there is no emission of waste water and residues. It can also reduce the disposal of large amount of agricultural wastes, the pollution problems caused by straw burning, and the emission of CO2.

3. Complete equipment system with the gasification technology and strong adaptability: it is suitable for all kinds of biomass of different shape, composition, mobility, and energy density. The requirement of water content of biomass is broad, as long as water content of equal to or less than 25%. The direct combustion and traditional gasification require the water content of biomass below 20%, and the requirement of biomass variety is single.

4. Good system stability and high utilization rate: it is able to realize continuous production. The annual utilization time can reach 7,000 hours. The maintenance work is little.
